‘With each note,’ Colin said, ‘I’m matching an alcohol, a liquor, or a flavour. The strong pedal corresponds to beating an egg and the weak pedal to shaving ice.’ from Boris Vian ‘L’Écume des jours’
This workshop is designed for all instrumentalists (with at least one year of practice on an instrument) who want to explore and play jazz. The varied repertoire (jazz, blues, bossanova, etc.) allows the musician to become familiar with playing in a group and to develop your musical instincts in harmony and rhythm. In short, it lets you take a dip in to a kind of music that has improvisation at its very heart.
Jean-François Rouaud, who is responsible for this workshop, also teaches and plays with the students.
Dates and time: to be determined with participants.
